 Psychotherapists
Kate Thompson, M.Ed. LPC, NCC (Washington Office) – earned a Masters of Education, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. “I have accumulated over twenty-five years experience in the human services, counseling, and educational fields. I believe that people thrive in healthy and positive relationships with themselves and others. Challenges that occur in our environment – family, work, school, friends – can affect our level of functioning and therefore, our ability to cultivate change and self worth. To confront these challenges I employ multi-modal and strength-based interventions that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Adlerian, Rational-Emotive and Behavioral Therapies.”
Eric J. Murphy, M.S., M.A. (Washington Office)- is a clinically trained Psychotherapist and has been employed in both corporate and private settings since 2004. He has two Masters Degrees from the University
of West Virginia: a Masters of Arts in
Community Counseling, and a Masters of Science in Community Wellness. He is continually training to
improve and expand his skills by facilitating workshops and providing employee
assistance to various organizations. He has significant experience assisting families in moving towards their full
potential and resolving conflict. Mr. Murphy uses his academic education and practical experience to help clients review and
evaluate their life situation, and help clarify their true goals. A client working with Mr. Murphy will gain an understanding of others and skills to have an impact towards living effectively and a deeper positive connection with self and loved ones.
