Kate Thompson, M.Ed. LPC, NCC (Certified EMDR Therapist) (Washington Office) – Kate has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the
fields of counseling, education and human services. She has expertise working with adults,
teenagers and children in diverse areas such as depression, stress, anxiety, traumas,
grief, anger, phobias and coping with physical illnesses. In addition, she works with relationships, family
issues and problems that may impact school.
Kate’s primary forms of treatment are EMDR and Brainspotting; both techniques utilize neuropsychotherapy and
a mind/body approach to healing. She
also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral
Therapy. She strives to help people meet the challenges in their lives stemming
from the past and present to empower them towards hope and the future.

Eric J. Murphy, M.S., M.A. (EMDR Trained) (Washington Office)- is a clinically trained Psychotherapist and has been employed in both corporate and private settings since 2004. He has two Masters Degrees from the University
of West Virginia: a Masters of Arts in
Community Counseling, and a Masters of Science in Community Wellness. He is continually training to
improve and expand his skills by facilitating workshops and providing employee
assistance to various organizations. He has significant experience assisting families in moving towards their full
potential and resolving conflict. Mr. Murphy uses his academic education and practical experience to help clients review and
evaluate their life situation, and help clarify their true goals. A client working with Mr. Murphy will gain an understanding of others and skills to have an impact towards living effectively and a deeper positive connection with self and loved ones.
Laurel O'Neal, MS, MA, NCC (EMDR Trained) (Washington Office & Pittsburgh Office) - has a
specialized bachelor’s degree from Emory University and two master’s degrees
from West Virginia University. Her bachelor’s
degree is in Psychology, specialized training in Neuropsychology. Her masters’ degrees specialized in Sport and
Exercise Psychology and Community Counseling.
Laurel has taught undergraduate students in professional development and
academic skill building. In addition, she
supported her students with regular psycho-education groups focusing on time
management, test anxiety, and stress reduction.
Laurel is also a nationally licensed soccer coach and has coached for Tuker
Youth Soccer Assoc. in Atlanta, West Virginia United, and currently with
Beadling Soccer Club in Pittsburgh.
Laurel is fully trained in EMDR and
uses the EMDR approach as her guiding theoretical orientation. She believes that EMDR is one of very few
global approaches that incorporate past, present and future, while synthesizing
neuro-psychotherapy with attachment and developmental factors. She also includes multisensory interventions to
empower clients towards success.
